In Memory of Shelley Rolfe

On Thursday June 18, 2009, Bush Truck Leasing lost a beloved employee and friend.

Shelley Rolfe went to be with the Lord after a 16 month battle with cancer. Her strength, determination, and courage were an inspiration to all that knew her. Her brilliant smile and contagious laughter filled our offices and our hearts for over 15 years. She will be so sadly missed but never forgotten.

Shelley dedicated a majority of her time helping customers all over the country. She didn’t know a clock. She simply stayed until the job was done. She loved her customers. It wasn’t just a job for her, it was her passion. I know that many of you worked with Shelley and loved her as much as we did.

If you would like, please share your memories of Shelley with us. We would love to hear from you.

I remember the first time I got the chance to actually sit down and talk with Shelley and that was at the 1st Bush Halloween Night I was invited to. Shelley spent over an hour talking with my husband and I and I can remember going home that evening talking about how sweet Shelley was to spend so much time with two almost complete strangers to her. She always treated everyone, at least t that I saw, as though she had known them forever and they were all her friends. She will be sadly missed but we all know exactly where she is and that she is with God now and looking over all her "Bush Family". The NE Territory will never be the same without you Shelley. I will miss you and your sweet smile every day!  - Kim Fritch

Our heart and prayer are with you !!!!! - Oscar & Prenda Perry Sr.

Shelley will be greatly missed, she was the one that could always get an answer for me and I’m sure for a lot of others as well. She was always a ray of sunshine on the phone. She will fit in nicely in the heavens, but missed here. - Robert Boggs

Shelley was very helpful on several ocassions to me personally when I was a new senior manager in Erie, Pa. She was always willing to go that extra mile for her customers and all the while being happy while she did it. - Scott Mackey

I am so sad to hear that Shelley passed away. I can't tell you how instrumental Shelley was in helping my husband get 2 trucks from Bush Leasing. Although I never met Shelley in person, I could tell over the phone that she was a genuine person. - Fanta Calhoun

Shelley had a wonderful spirit that was evident in the long lasting friendships she developed. I only had about a year to get to know her and I am blessed for that amount of time.  She will be missed, but not forgotten. -- Maurice Holloway

I loved working with Shelley! She was ALWAYS there to lend a hand and answer any of my silly questions no matter how high her stack was or how many staples she was removing! She always took time. We also talked about making jewelry a lot together. I really enjoyed those moments with her. She had the best aura glow about her! She kept me smiling! - April Rothan

Shelley - our dear friend, fellow employee, our Angel - our HERO. Your smile and laughter will always be apart of us. Shelley You Rock! - Robin Rutherford

I am so sorry to hear about Shelley . She was the only one I knew there. If she had not helped me I don't know where I would be today. She knew I had never leased a truck before and made the transition so smooth. My sympathy goes out to all who knew her for I am sure whe was a remarkable woman. Peace be with her. -- Bruce Gann

I knew Shelley for only a short time but it felt like so much longer. She had a way of making you feel like you'd been friends your whole life. -- Stephen Mullin

My deepest sympathy goes out to her family. She was a great asset to me as a new PD manager for Fedex Ground, she was instrumental in her job and always took the lead to finish out a deal to help a contractor, any time Shelley was there for me or one of our contractors. Her stamp is on many vehicles in this building. She will be missed. God Bless -- Laura Johnson

Shelley was one of my favorite customers and co-workers. I sold trucks to Shelley for a number of years prior to coming to Bush to work with her. She was my "I'm having a lousy day help desk". Whenever I was having a frustrating or difficult day, I would give her a quick call to chat with her for a couple of minutes to bring things back into perspective. She always had a crazy story about a unique situation that only Shelley could've gotten herself into that made my issues seem much more manageable! The phrase, "Oh my God! You have got to hear this one!" was always the beginning of a great Shelley story. When my world was in chaos, Shelley (and her crazy stories) had very calming effects on me and I truly appreciated her friendship. Although our friendship was brief in comparison to others, I look back on it fondly and smile when I think of her insane stories. That's what Shelley means to me, a friend that helped me to put things in perspective and move on. A friend I could depend on to pick me up, make me laugh, and motivate me to get back into the game with a quick story about her day. -- Brett Burdno

Shelley was the most thoughtful, kind, and patient person I’ve ever worked with.  Being a new “kid on the block” in this leasing business, I constantly had questions and needs.  She never, ever got upset with me whenever I interrupted her daily work, and I did, very often.   She not only gave the needed answers, but she also gave in  reasoning for those answers, and information where I could research for more in depth information to backup the situation.  More importantly, Shelley was not only the “BEST” as a co-worker, but as a personal friend.  She always had time to listen, regardless of how busy she was, or even when she was feeling her worst.  And often you weren’t able to tell that she was feeling her worst.  Shelley drew a special love from anyone who truly new her, and I am so extremely happy that I was one of those many who can include Shelley as one of “My Most Special Friends” in my lifetime.  I truly loved her. - Jim Pfister

SHELLEY WAS A GREAT PERSON TO WORK WITH.SHE HELPED ME A GREAT DEAL OVER THE YEARS AND SHE WILL BE MISSED. - Cal Feliciani

I was privileged and honored to call Shelley my dearest friend for over 28 years.  We shared many triumphs, tragedies, laughter, and tears during that span.  Her incredible sense of humor and wit were only out done by her intellect and determination.   Her brilliant smile filled the room.  Her loyalty to me and our company is unsurpassed.  I miss her terribly. -- Lisa Bush

Shelley was my mentor when I started with Bush, she taught me so much in a short amount of time that I worked with her. I remember going home after my first day of working with Shelley, I felt as if I had worked a lifetime with her. She had a away of making our customers internal and external feel at ease no matter what the situation may have been. Shelley you will be missed so much. May God bless you. Todd Northcutt
